Post 3.3.0.0 UCD Chemistry Department Glass Makers

Once upon a time I wanted to videotape the custom glass makers from the UCD Chemistry Department, and then put an edited collection of the shapes and motions to music. I was surprised to discover that the Chemistry Department had glass makers. Where the glass makers at Disneyland and other tourist places had small torches, they had large apparatuses, with torches inset. The one I saw in operation was a lathe. Put cylindrical glass stock in the lathe, measure off the amount you need, then cut and smooth it with the torch. Then go on to the next operation.

I think I discovered them when I picked up some waste from them, working for UCD EHS. That was a good student job.
